The Union Pacific Railroad today began constructing a controversial fence that will eliminate a shortcut to downtown Davis for residents of a neighborhood between Interstate 80 and the railroad tracks.
City officials announced that the railroad began work on a fence to close the historic gates to Slater’s Court and Davis Mobile Estates in the Olive Drive area across from the Davis Train Depot. The gates have been in place for decades and provide access to the depot and downtown Davis for
