The 64th annual Cannes Film Festival inaugurated in high pitch Wednesday by a sun-drenched French Riviera.
City workers labored into the last minute on the festival’s eve, adding copestones to the pastoral coastline, strategically posing colorful shrubbery and cementing white railings on the narrow stroll de la Croisette.
