Belgian cyclist Wouter Weylandt unfortunately lost his life today in an accident during the popular race.
The accident took place when Weylandt was going downhill at a section of the race, just 12 miles away from the race. In the broadcast video we can see a motionless Weylandt lying on the road while paramedics try to aid him.
Unfortunately, despite the CPR efforts, the cyclist died as a result of injuries suffered in the accident. Warning, this video might contain disturbing images.
